My bf and I are going to a fancy dress Halloween party and want to go as a ‘couple’. We have been Frankenstein and his bride before, but can’t think of anything for this year. We are both pretty good at making costumes, as long as they’re not too complicated. It’s in England, so the costumes need to have a scary theme (unlike in US where any costume goes, I think)

Any ideas?
Some good ideas – but not many Halloween – themed ones (I like the idea of the Phantom of the Opera, but not usre how you’d do Jack the Ripper as noone knows who he was!!)

I’m a man looking to dress up as a woman for Halloween, probably a witch, devil woman or something similar. A pretty scary sight.

I’ve seen loads of costumes for sale in various sizes but have no idea what size I’d need. I don’t think it’s an exact thing as most costumes fit a couple of sizes, e.g. 14-16 but I need to get an idea of where to begin.

I’m 6′2", men’s medium size up top, 34" waist, 34" leg in trousers. Any idea what UK size or size range I should be looking at? Do the women’s sizes actually equate to anything in inches?

Alternatively, if anyone knows of any other good options to get around this size problem then I’m open to suggestions.

I wanna be alice in wonderland for halloween and I’m gonna make my own costume..but i dont really know wheer to find stuff for it.. I dont sew at all and I already have the black mary janes for it..but can anyone give me some ideas on what i could use at home or cheap places to go for an apron or dress? i only have a couple of days to get this stuff.

…Right I can do the beard and moustache no problem and I’m not gonna bother with a dread locked wig because it will be hot and sweaty but how does one go about getting those braided beady type parts at the front, I’d just have a few of them. My hairs about 4-5 inches long, which I guess isn’t long enough so someone said get a few hair extensions but I don’t really know how that works. Can you just buy a couple of the braided beady extensions and how do they attach to your head?

Don’t worry about cost I’m not fussed about that. Many Thanks.

Really need some ideas of what me and my partner can go to a Halloween as (cant do vampires or zombies)

We want to go as something recognisable (possibly characters) but wanted to keep to the scary/horror theme (doesnt have to be gory or over the top but something halloween-ey!)

So trying to think of scary recognisable characters for both of us is proving difficult for me…….any ideas??????

Anyone got any funny suggestions for what I can dress as for halloween? I’m a student so can’t afford to buy much, I don’t wanna look sexy or owt, I want it to be funny and stupid. We are organising a Halloween costume engagement party. (I know it sounds weird, but we both love costume parties and October is coming soon) What is the etiquette in terms of who to invite, do we invite good friends who we cant afford to invite to the wedding, for example? We want it to be fun and Halloween like, but also a bit classy and engagement like. It will be an at home party.(we have lots of outdoor entertainment space) Does anyone have any good creative ideas. I have no idea what design to do for the invites either. (I am doing them myself, but have creators block)Most halloween style invites are too tacky and most engagements invites are too formal. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for what costumes we should wear (we dont have to dress as a couple nessesarily)

So for my Halloween costume, I’m being a fishermen. I have a black vest with a couple flies on it, a Tillie Hat with one in it and a fishing rod.
I have no gum boots, and I was going to take my brothers shirt and just I guess wear my baggy jeans, but I was going to make a moustache out of eye liner? Would it work?
